Calling all DVBE and SDVOSB contractors. Did you know that there are programs designed to assist and guide you in getting work with the Metropolitan Water District, Alameda County, San Francisco, Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority? These programs provide many valuable services free of charge. However, your business must be in good shape to be ready and viable.
We have three ready-resources for you:
- Dave Ortolf: General Insurance and Bonding. Dave is in OC Chapter leadership and part of the national Chapter Development committee: [email protected].
- Coreena Conley is on the National Board and leads our VBOC resources: [email protected]
- Karie Armstrong is a wonderful resource for us at the Small Business Development center (SBDC). [email protected]. Her direct calendar link is : https://calendly.com/karie-armstrong
The Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) and Veteran Business Outreach Centers (VBOC) hosts webinars to teach you how to get started with the Metropolitan Water District. The other cities and counties have robust disabled veteran contractor development and bonding programs. They include assessment of your strengths and opportunities for growth. Education on how to best start, run and grow your contracting business. Plus, technical support with financing, accounting, insurance, bonding and prime partner matchmaking. All free to the Veteran, DVBE or SDVOSB and those in the process of securing their DVBE/SDVOSB status. These Cities and Counties cannot find enough qualified contractors to meet the goals that have been set for DVBE/SDVOSB participation so they eagerly welcome any qualified contractor or aspiring contractor into these development programs.
