PANMCC-24-P-0000-010904 – Sources Sought – Delayed Ariel Ignition Device (DAID) Spheres

A need is anticipated for DAID Spheres, which is used during aerial prescribed burning located at Fort Stewart, Georgia. These DAID Spheres are pyrotechnic balls dispensed from a helicopter and bursts into flames upon contact with the ground.

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

The DAID Spheres shall have the following salient characteristics:

  • Shell Material: High Impact Polystyrene
  • Diameter: 1.12 inches / 32 mm
  • Potassium Permanganate Inside Sphere: 0.11 oz / 3.0 g
  • Total Mass: 0.17 oz / 4.8 g
  • Ignition Delay: 20-30 seconds at 50°F

Vendors must provide delivery lead time.
