THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS, OR DRAWINGS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.

The purpose of this sources sought is to determine if there are commercially available combination transmitter/receiver with equivalent specifications of the KING FISHER KFRTI-8S detailed in Attachment 2 – Technical Information.  Kingfisher KFRTI-8S combination transmitter/receiver must operate on 120V and be in a NEMA 3R enclosure, be an FCC Licensed unit, and be compatible with conventional (non-addressable) Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP’s). Transmitter must also contain long life rechargeable battery backup (unit can operate for 60-72 hours in standby mode following a power failure), have automatic self-testing, and be Factory Mutual Approved.  The attachment describes the required equipment for the Dry Dock 1 Caisson Replacement project and is necessary for compatibility with the existing base-wide fire alarm reporting system at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

This is a market research tool being used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential sources prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of an award. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. It is requested that interested vendors submit to the contracting office a brief capabilities statement package (no more than 5 pages total) demonstrating the ability to provide the product with the specifications described above.
