Olympus Long Resectoscope

INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND:

The Lebanon VA Medical Center (LVAMC) has a requirement for two (2) Olympus Long Resectoscopes, and sterile processing trays. This device is needed for use on patients that require resection of bladder tumors, or TUR Intervention. Currently the facility does not have a long resectoscope for use in patients with long urethras, semi-flexible penile implants, or bariatric patients etc. with difficult to reach anatomy. Therefore, these patients are being sent to the community for their care. This results in high cost to the facility, as well as dissatisfaction of the patient because they cannot have their surgical procedure with their preferred provider or facility.
The Olympus Brand Long Resectoscope is required, due to the power and light sources, as well as the other scopes utilized at this facility are Olympus. Integration of accessories, and maintaining the same standard of care for patients, and staff familiarity with functionality of Olympus products will maintain safe and quality care for Veterans.

OBJECTIVE:

The Surgical Department at Lebanon VA Medical Center at (595) Lebanon, Pennsylvania, hereby referred to as the Lebanon VAMC (595), is seeking the acquisition of (2) Olympus Brand Long Resectoscope.
